Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The unit is able to admit patients 24 hours a day.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides critical care services and contributes to the growing need of the healthcare system for ICU beds.
Within the ICU environment, patients are supported during the critical stage of failure of one or more vital functions. Mechanical respiratory support is provided using both invasive and non-invasive ventilation, while vital signs are continuously and closely monitored, allowing for immediate and specialized therapeutic interventions.
The multidisciplinary ICU, which has 5 beds, treats patients with severe health conditions due to pathological, cardiological, and surgical causes. It is fully equipped and staffed with specialized personnel available 24/7. The ICU supports all hospital departments and admits not only emergency cases requiring intensive care, but also surgical and cardiology patients who need immediate postoperative or post-intervention monitoring. As a result, it has extensive experience in managing a wide range of cases, providing safety and full support to both surgical and medical specialties.
In the ICU, among other services, the following are performed:
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Respiratory support
- Hemofiltration and hemodialysis methods
- Intracranial pressure monitoring
High Dependency Unit (HDU)
The High Dependency Unit (HDU) is intended for patients who require closer monitoring, increased postoperative care, or those transferred from a higher level of care (ICU). These are patients whose condition is stable and does not require mechanical support, but who still need close medical supervision and enhanced care.
The HDU at Therapis General Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, and patients are under continuous monitoring to track their vital signs and overall health progress.
