The endoscopy room is equipped with modern digital endoscopy equipment such as a digital electronic imaging endoscopy tower with video recording systems to support all endoscopic procedures. An electrosurgical diathermy unit is also available in order to allow the use of argon plasma. A modern anesthesia machine with a recording facility monitors the patient’s vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate) during the endoscopy.
The department also has a resuscitation unit with 2 beds that are continuously monitored by nurses. There is a special area for disinfection of endoscopes after each endoscopic procedure, with a modern washing – disinfecting machine of high standards.
All endoscopic procedures are performed in the presence of an anesthesiologist to ensure the integrated patient monitoring.
