- He worked as an Academic Fellow and Scientific Associate at the 1st University Urology Clinic of “Laiko” General Hospital after completing his specialty training.
- In 2021, at Lefkos Stavros – The Athens Clinic, together with Ioannis Katafygiotis, they were the first to introduce and implement the transperineal Fusion prostate biopsy technique using the advanced BiopSee system by the German company Medcom, being among the first Greek urologists to apply this technique in Greece.
- During 2021–2024, the team of Dr. I. Leotsakos and Dr. I. Katafygiotis performed more than 700 transperineal Fusion prostate biopsies, making them one of the most experienced teams in applying this technique.
- In 2024, together with Dr. Ioannis Katafygiotis, they co-founded Advanced Urology, a specialized urology center focusing on the treatment of urological conditions using minimally invasive endourological, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques.
- They are among the first Greek teams to have performed and continue to successfully perform combined mini percutaneous and flexible laser kidney stone lithotripsy (ECIRS) for the effective treatment of large stone burdens (large kidney stones).

- He completed a certified two-year Clinical and Research Fellowship under the auspices of the American Endourological Society in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Endourology, and Urolithiasis at the renowned Urology Clinic of the Hadassah University Medical Center in Israel.
- There, he performed numerous laparoscopic, robotic, and endourological procedures such as flexible ureterolithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy, and Fusion prostate biopsies.
- After completing the two-year training, he received the international title Fellow of the Endourological Society.
- During 2021–2024, he received further training in the HOLEP technique at Carl Gustav Carus Hospital in Dresden, at the University Clinic Auguste-Viktoria-Klinikum in Berlin (a leading center), at the specialized training center IRCAD of the University Hospital of Strasbourg, at the training center in Düsseldorf, Germany, and at the University Urology Clinic of Freiburg, Germany.
- In 2021, he was trained and certified in prostate vaporization using water vapor (REZUM technique) by Boston Scientific.

Additional Information
During 2022–2024, Dr. I. Leotsakos and Dr. I. Katafygiotis co-organized and conducted, with the ISLE academy, two international seminars on the transperineal Fusion prostate biopsy technique, with the participation of Professor of Radiology E. Kapsalaki and Professor of the 1st University Urology Clinic D. Mitropoulos.
The team specializes in the full spectrum of urological conditions (oncology, urinary stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, etc.) using modern endourological, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques.
